Bringing a little sweetness to Uyuni Salt Flat (B, BXL, D)
An early rise will be imminent today, as today we will require catching a flight to get to Uyuni Salt Flat, after you’ve indulged in breakfast. On arrival, the adventure will commence with a fascinating experience that you will not forget. Starting with a visit to the Train Cemetery, home to many antique locomotives.
Advancing on this adventure, we soon find ourselves towards the extraordinary natural beauty of the Salt Flats (3663 mts/12017.7 ft) with 10,582 square kilometers (4,085 square miles). Recently gaining a lot of attraction, the salt flats have become a must-see destination for all tourists who visit Bolivia.
Advancing onto our next destination, we will be accompanied by the ethereal views of the tranquil landscapes. As we finally reach the Aymara community of Coquesa (3689 mts/ 12103.0 ft) that is located on the banks of the Tunupa Volcano. This will be our location to enjoy our boxed lunches as well as admire the views.
Ascending to the volcano, you will witness a wonderful panorama surrounded by a fairytale-like atmosphere. Your guide will point out pre-Inca mummies from 700 B.C displaying themselves almost intact. Surrounding their presence, you will witness a range of utensils, placed for them to take it further, into the afterlife.
Once the afternoon approaches, you will be able to appreciate the spectacle of the glorious sunset on this natural wonder.
